11-Year Generational Upgrade

July 2026 — Sie-mens has officially launched global volume delivery of the LOGO! 9 series compact logic controllers. As the first full generation upgrade in 11 years, this entry-level PLC benchmark delivers leapfrog upgrades in performance, HMI, connectivity and cybersecurity.

Doubled Processing Capacity

LOGO! 9 raises the maximum function blocks per device from 400 to 800, doubling processing capacity. Complex logic that previously needed multiple controllers can now run on a single unit, cutting wiring and maintenance costs.

Expanded I/O Scalability

It supports up to 16 expansion modules, with a maximum of 64 digital inputs, 60 digital outputs and 16 analog I/Os — around 30% higher than the previous generation. The new AM4 analog module enables high-precision measurement and closed-loop control.

10A High-Current Relay Output

The base unit’s integrated relay outputs support direct 10A load connection. Fans, pumps and other power equipment can be driven without intermediate relays, saving cabinet space and BOM costs.

Onboard Color Touchscreen

For the first time, the base module comes with a standard 320×240 color touchscreen, replacing the legacy keypad. On-site staff can check status, adjust parameters and run diagnostics directly, no laptop required.

4.3-Inch TDE Display Option

Sie-mens also launches a 4.3-inch LOGO! TDE text display for cabinet door installation, with 480×272 resolution and dual Ethernet ports for remote visual operation.

Cross-Platform Programming Software

LOGO! Soft Comfort V9 supports Windows, macOS and Linux, with built-in simulation. Programs from LOGO! 8 and LOGO! 9 are bidirectionally compatible, protecting existing engineering assets.

Native IoT Connectivity

LOGO! 9 natively supports Modbus TCP/IP and MQTT, connecting to SCADA or cloud platforms without extra modules. Its built-in web server enables browser-based remote monitoring, replacing standalone HMIs in most small applications.

Security-by-Design Architecture

It features secure boot and role-based user access control with four permission levels, plus firmware update and factory reset functions, filling the cybersecurity gap for compact controllers.

Wide Application Coverage

Ideal for small equipment manufacturing, building automation, water treatment, agriculture, photovoltaics and retail infrastructure, retaining compact size and ease of use while lifting performance limits.

Global Availability

Eight base modules, TDE displays, three expansion modules and V9 software are now open for order, with first shipments starting in May 2026. Eight more expansion modules will arrive in Q1 2027.
